Parking

Designated parking spaces close to the building are available in our parking lot.

Wheelchair Accessibility

The Museum’s first and second floors and bathrooms are entirely wheelchair accessible. The second-floor may be reached by elevator. Several outdoor exhibits and walking trails in the Quinn Nature Preserve are wheelchair accessible with assistance. If needed, an adult-sized wheelchair is available to borrow on a first come, first served basis. Please see our Admissions Desk for more information.

Sensory Resources

Looking for a quieter visit? Join us for Montshh… Sensory Friendly Hours.

Sensory supplies are available for those who may need them:

Noise-canceling headphones
Various fidgets
Timers
Stuffies
Weighted lap pad
Therapy balls

Guests may borrow these supplies from the Admissions Desk. All supplies are available on a first come, first served basis and must be returned to the Admissions Desk before the end of the day. Sensory resources and information were made possible by a grant from the Institute for Museum and Library Services.

Strollers

The first and second floors of the Museum are stroller accessible. If needed, a stroller is available to borrow on a first come, first served basis. Please see our Admissions Desk for more information.

Restrooms

Gender inclusive, family-sized restrooms are located on the first floor and are wheelchair accessible.

First Aid

First Aid Kits are available throughout the museum. If you would like access to one, our floor staff can direct you to the closest one.

Financial Accessibility

Special admission and membership fees are offered to low-income families through the Warm Welcome Program.

The Anderson Center at the Montshire

The Anderson Center is the Montshire’s community space, designed to offer a more accessible and inclusive experience.

This modern museum hub includes gender inclusive restrooms, a more spacious coat room, and a renovated Community Room for education programs and special events. Enjoy an even more comfortable Montshire experience with our new amenities!
