Join the Montshire in celebrating NAEYC’s 100th year of the Week of the Young Child. The National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) invites educators, families, and communities to come together in a joyful celebration of early learning, young children, and the adults who support them.

Visit on Tuesday, April 14th for Science Story Time in the classroom.
Get ready for facts, fossils, and more! We will read I’m Not Scary…I’m Just a Dinosaur! The incredible features that made dinosaurs special! Written by Ben Lerwill and illustrated by Erica Salcedo; as well as Trapped in the Tar Pit: How Paleontologists Unearthed a City’s Prehistoric Past written by Jessica Stremer, and illustrated by Alexander Vidal. Then join your little one to excavate fossils, bones, and dinos!

Visit on Friday, April 17th, for a Family Nature Walk.
Let’s go on a nature discovery walk together! We will practice looking closely at budding branches, discover spring sprouts, and find signs of animal life along the trails of Montshire’s Healing Forest. Meet the museum educator on the terrace after checking in with the admissions desk. All program materials will be provided. Join us in all weather… dress appropriately and make it part of the adventure!
