February Break Camp
The Montshire is offering 5 days of February Break Camp! Sign your camper up for one day or many, and they’ll explore electricity, magnetism, space, physics, simple machines, plants & trees and color science. Our hands-on experiences and talented educators will spark your child’s curiosity and engage their drive for discovery.
This camp will run from Monday – Friday, February 23-27, 9am-3pm and is for children ages 6-10, grades 1-4. Before/After care is not available for February Break Camp. Each camp day costs $80 for members and $90 for non-members.

You can sign your camper up for one day, several, or all five!

Electricity & Magnetism

Explore some of the fundamental principles that help our natural and engineered worlds work! Together we’ll make our own compasses, explore how electricity gets to our homes, and play around with static in a shocking manner!
Space

Travel to the far reaches of space to learn about the forces that govern our universe. We will do some stargazing in our portable planetarium, explore gravity, look into the mysteries of electricity, and even rocket science!
Physics & Simple Machines

Explore essential physics principles through simple machines! Learn about how forces can work together and change with these classic contraptions. We will experiment with pulleys, levers, fulcrums, and more!
Color Science
Thursday, February 26th 2026 – 1 Spot remaining
Brighten up your winter vacation with this colorful exploration of the science of color. We’ll experiment with mixing and unmixing colors using chromatography; using light and filters to create hidden colored messages; and explore color changing chemistry!
Plants & Trees
Friday, February 27th 2026 – WAITLIST ONLY – please email camps@montshire.org
Discover the life of a plant from seed to soil on this botanical camp day. Investigate the composting process, dissect a seed, design a garden, and even make plant-based art! Become a budding naturalist or deepen your enthusiasm for the forest!
Camp Expectations:

Refund Policy:
Cancellations made on or prior to January 25, 2025 receive a full refund, minus a $20 administrative fee.
Cancellations made between January 26 – February 8 will receive a 50% refund, and cancellations after February 9 are not eligible for a refund.
We are unable to make other refunds for campers who are unable to come to camp, including due to health or travel changes.
Camper families are required to fill in contact and emergency forms, as well as a camper expectation agreement. Forms will be sent via email after your payment is accepted.
Once your payment has been accepted your child has been registered. If there are any issues with your registration we will reach out by email to resolve the issue.
