11:00 a.m. Mirror Mirror Use mirrors to investigate symmetry. Turn simple shapes into complex and interesting patterns

12:45 p.m. Hoopster Gliders Build a glider that flies! Experiment and change your design to see if you can make it fly even further.

2:00 p.m. Balance-Balance Explore the ups-and-downs of balance and make your own balance toy to take home.

Sunday, March 7

11:00 a.m. Magnets (preschoolers and their families) Discover cool ways to experiment with and use magnets.

2:30 p.m. Gearing Up (Lab Coat Activity for those ages 9 and up) Join in as we build machines with gears. Find out how different types of gears can change how something moves.

3:45 p.m. Snapping Turtles Learn more about our resident snapping turtles that hatched last September.

Saturday, March 13

11:00 a.m. Animal Tracks Winter is a great time to read stories in the snow as told by passing animals. Make your own track book to record who has been scurrying about near your home.

3:30 p.m. Pocket Snowflakes (Lab Coat Activity for those ages 9 and up) Investigate symmetry with multiple mirrors. Turn simple shapes into complex patterns and explore the beauty of nature. Use what we discover about angles and reflections to make your own "snowflake" to take home.

Sunday, March 14

11:00 a.m. Color Mixing (Preschoolers and their families) Mix it up by experimenting with primary colors and seeing what new colors can be created.

2:30 p.m. Cells (Lab Coat Activity for those ages 9 and up) Compare plant and animals cells using a microscope. You may get a chance to see your own cells!

Saturday, March 20

10:45 a.m. Leafcutter Ants Our Leafcutter ant colony is a community of "insect fungus farmers" that grows its own food. Help us provide the colony with its morning supply of leaves and get a close look at these amazing insects.

11:15 a.m. Thaumatropes Learn about how this optical illusion works and then make one of your own to take home.

3:30 p.m. Mirror Mirror (Lab Coat Activity for those ages 9 and up) Investigate with curved mirrors. Use a curved mirror to make an image stretch and bend.

12:45 p.m. - Skulls Learn about New England wildlife while examining their skeletal remains.

11:00 a.m. Spinning Things Test your ability to design a spinning top. Experiment with shape, balance and weight to see how long your top will spin.

3:30 p.m. - Math Puzzles (Lab Coat Activity for those ages 9 and up) Test yourself with a variety of number challenges.

Sunday, March 28

11:00 a.m. - Magnets (Preschoolers and their families) Discover cool ways to experiment with and use magnets.

2:30 p.m. Build a Better Battery (Lab Coat Activity for those ages 9 and up) How does a battery work? We will make real batteries with simple, safe chemicals, and measure the amount of electric energy our batteries produce.
