Participate in special indoor and outdoor activities and hands-on explorations throughout the day. Ephem-er-al (i-ˈfem-rəl) — something that lasts for a very short time.
10:30 – 12:00 Valley Quest Book and Stamp Making – Carve your own stamp and begin collecting stamps in your passport book as you explore the Upper Valley. Classroom.
10:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. Springtime Birds – Meet a local scientist and birder at the Charlie and Kiwi Exhibit.
10:30 a.m. Frog and Toad Feeding – Learn about the museum’s frogs as you watch them being fed. Aquarium Exhibit.
11 a.m. Aquatic Bugs – Look up close at the seasonal insect life in ponds. Discovery Lab.
11:30 a.m. Learn about the hidden lives of frogs and salamanders in small springtime pools during this 15 minute film, then meet them up-close afterwards. Theater.
Noon Spring Bird Walk* – Learn to use binoculars to see migrating and singing birds this spring! Meet at the Front Desk.
12:30 p.m. Montshire Valley Quest Hike* – Join the Valley Quest team as they look for clues along the Ridge Trail. Meet at the Front Desk.
1 p.m. Mossy Mysteries – Look up close at some of the smallest and toughest plants and critters out there. Discovery Lab.
1:30 p.m. Learn about the hidden lives of frogs and salamanders in small springtime pools during this 15 minute film, then meet them up-close afterwards. Theater.
2 p.m. Dissecting Flowers – Use a microscope to find out what’s inside a springtime flower. Discovery Lab
3 p.m. Spring Bird Walk* – Learn to use binoculars to see migrating and singing birds this spring! Meet at the Front Desk.
4 p.m. Turtle Feeding – Help feed the museum’s painted and snapping turtles. Aquarium Exhibit.
