Aeolian Landscape

Snowdrifts? Sand dunes? Adjust the fan direction and marvel as air movement shapes this landscape. This exhibit shows patterns of air movement on a landscape of sand. Over time, the landscape changes as a result of the moving air inside the exhibit case, and the whole process can be viewed from above. Visitors can adjust the airflow which causes the turbulence inside the exhibit, but most prefer simply to watch as moving air builds and alters and rebuilds its landscape over time.
